Playground Communication and Key Word Sign Boards
Our Playground Communication Boards are designed to support children with communication needs by combining two powerful Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools: symbol-based communication and Key Word Sign.
These boards are ideal for children who are pre-verbal, developing speech, or have unclear speech. By pointing to symbols on the board, children can express their needs, make choices, ask for help, and join in play.
Key Word Sign uses signs and gestures alongside spoken words to support understanding and expression. By integrating symbols and signs, our boards offer a multi-modal approach to communication, giving children more than one way to get their message across.
This combined approach helps children communicate more effectively in everyday environments—especially during play—while also building confidence, independence, and connection with peers and adults.
