Colours – Key Word Sign

Art
Extend pointer and middle finger from fist. Move your hand like you are painting something over palm of other flat hand
Blue (North)
Middle finger on back of other hand, pointer finger forwards. Brush middle finger up other hand twice.
Brown (North)
Place hand on back of other hand and move in a small circle
Northern sign - NSW and QLD
Colour
Touch tips of thumb and pointer finger together. Rub along the side of other pointer finger a few times
Dark
Hook pointer and middle fingers, slightly separated. Place next to eye. Move hand across eyes like the dark is obstructing their view
Draw
Hold non dominant hand flat, like it's paper. Hold dominant hand like you are holding a pencil. Move dominant hand around like it's drawing on the paper.
Green (South)
One arm in front, blade of other hand at wrist. Move up arm to elbow. Tip: think greensleeves
Lighten
Place hooked pointer and middle fingers of dominant hand in front of nose, palm facing towards you. Straighten pointer and middle fingers up in front of face.
Mix
Non dominant hand in cup shape. Extend pointer and middle finger of other hand, place in ‘cup’ and move in circles like mixing something
Paint
Use dominant flat hand to brush up and down over palm of other
flat hand, like painting on a canvas
Pattern
Clawed hands, palms forward, close to each other. Simultaneously move upwards moving hands in small arcs
Pink (South)
Hand facing forward, pointer finger on front of cheek.
Move back then down cheek Tip: Our cheeks are pink
Primary
Non dominant flat palm facing down at chest height. Move dominant hand, with pointer and middle finger extended, in horizontal circles underneath other hand.
Rainbow
Arm across body, palm facing you, fingers slightly spread, move hand in large arc. Like you are making the shape of a rainbow
