During this practical session, educators explore how using emotion-based signs and visual communication strategies can support children to recognise feelings, express needs and develop regulation skills throughout the day.
Using signs alongside spoken language helps make emotions, choices and calming strategies more visible and easier for children to understand, particularly during stressful or overwhelming moments.
Educators learn practical ways to use CKWS to reduce frustration, support co-regulation and create calmer, more supportive learning environments where children feel understood, included and better able to communicate their needs.
