Key Word Signs – Colour Communication – Recommended
These colour key word signs have been selected as the easiest for children to copy or to remember. If you want to selected the Auslan sign that is more predominant in your area please select the colour off the North or South Communication Board dependant on your state.
As we are a Children’s Key Word Sign (CKWS) organisation we select signs based on the research that shows location is the first parameter children master, with handshape taking the longest to correct execute. We further select signs that are the most iconic eg. the red sign was selected due to lips being red, pink sign as cheeks are pink
